This morning I made lotion bars. They were easy to make and turned out really well. It adds moisture to my hands and has staying power. I really like making my own stuff.
Hello again! I got a few pictures of a Goldfinch and something blue. I think the blue thing was an Indigo Bunting, but not sure. It flew away before I could focus my camera…darn.
I think this is a mom and baby as the red one looks pretty fluffy. But I’ve seen Cardinals doing the same thing.
We had a new visitor at our deck the other day…a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. It’s the first one I’d ever seen so it was a big thing for me. With Spring finally here, I’m looking forward to all the new birds…but they will have to hold still long enough for me to get some pictures!
I just spent the past hour or so trying to reconnect my printer to my PC. In fact, my PC crashed the other day and I’ve been getting everything loaded back on. Today it was my printer. I’m still not convinced that it’s on here because after loading it like four times, I still can’t find it in the control panel. However, it did print a document from Word…so I’m thinking it must be on here somewhere???
P.S. The picture has nothing what-so-ever to do with this post…
Since I’ve been here in Akron, I’ve started making my own soap bars and lip balm. I am using Melt & Pour soap base so it’s not that tough. And I find it rather fun. The lip balm I’ve done once, but I like the fact it doesn’t have a lot of chemical crap in it…or the soap, although, the soap would be better if I made it from scratch…a bit more complicated. I just got my second lip balm kit today. Yes…I know…it is Sunday, but USPS delivered it anyway. Go figure! So my sister and I will make some lip balm probably tomorrow afternoon…as I have a doctor appointment in the morning. Not really looking forward to that, I might add.
Oh, with Melt & Pour soap base you just microwave it until it melts…stirring every few seconds (like 15 to 30 seconds at a time). Then add your essential oils and any dry stuff like flowers, ground oatmeal, etc., and stir until it is well mixed. It’s ok to remelt if it starts setting up before you can get it into the molds. Anyway…it is lots of fun. Ok…they aren’t perfect, but it was my first try…lol!
